STREETSLA NEEDS YOUR INPUT!
Upcoming Community Meetings and Survey regarding Sidewalk and Transit Amenities Program (STAP)

You're Invited!

The Sidewalk and Transit Amenities Program (STAP) is a citywide program that aims to install new bus shelters and other transit amenities throughout the City of Los Angeles over the next 10 years, increasing shade, safety, and comfort at bus stops across the City. The Department of Public Works Bureau of Street Services (StreetsLA) welcomes you to join the conversation and learn how we envision bus shelter improvements throughout L.A. Our team has been busy compiling station data and utilizing an equity-focused process to prioritize bus stop locations as we prepare to roll out improvements in the coming year.

We look forward to sharing the vision and hope to see you on:

Project Overview

StreetsLA operates STAP, the bus shelter program, for the City of Los Angeles. The focus of STAP is to offer:

  • Shelter & Shade
  • Safety & Comfort
  • Innovation & Accessibility, and
  • Equity

with the goal of ensuring 75% of all bus riders in each City Council District are able to board buses from locations with a transit shelter. STAP will replace the current Coordinated Streets Furniture Program and will focus on upgrading and replacing current stations that lack shelter and shade by adding functional elements that better serve transit riders. To achieve and exceed this goal, STAP will provide 3,000 new shelters and other planned amenities.
